Capricorn Coast Birds
Rockhampton Botanic Gardens and Yeppen Lagoon
Access to these is from Upper Dawson Road; either the Botanic Gardens via Spencer St. or Yeppen Lagoon via Blackall St. For out of town visitors Upper Dawson Rd. can be reached from the Bruce Highway via Prospect St., a short distance from the Visitor Information Centre at the Spire on the highway. From either entry a footpath about 2km long follows the Lagoons.
  Yeppen Lagoon
Groups of water birds can be seen along the walk beside the lagoons but are more numerous in the Botanic Gardens where this photo was taken, in this group, from left to right are; a White Ibis, two Pink-eared Ducks and a Eurasian Coot, behind are a Hardhead duck, Dusky Moorhen and another coot.
Sulphur-crested Cockatoos can be seen along the whole path but seem to be in residence around the Botanic Gardens car park where I photographed this one.
